Looking Back: A year in Pictures
January
February: the morning of Dave's Mom's funeral: the worst week of the year. Death is hard, sudden death is really hard and what seemed to us to be human negligence in proper care of the deceased and the death becomes brutal and even more of an emotional roller coaster than it already was. But God is faithful. We saw that so much through that week and even after we returned home in the care that was given to us. To all who cared, thank you. And to the one who contributed to our house rent, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!
My little bobble head. It's hard to believe now that he was once a bit scrawny. I was so worried about his lack of growth. Now? He eats as much or more than his sister most days.
Amber's "melting" snowman. It kept leaning precariously the longer it was standing. Her birthday party was in March, a month late. We were all in New Jersey the month before.
April
May: get a load of those baby blues
June: our attempt at family pictures fell flat.
Mini bride and groom.
July: how can I get into the sandbox?
This is what my summer consisted of: lots of baking
August
September: our budding pianist
October
November: celebrating a 50th birthday party. Ladies only.
And testing out some ethnic restaurants.
December: Amber in her happy place
And Logan is all boy: the mischief gleams from his eyes and already he delights in making his sister scream and fuss. Oh yes, it will be fun!!
2018 was a good year, a hard year, a blessed year. We have so much to be thankful for. And now as we enter 2019, I want to live it to its fullest potential and soak it up and treasure it. We will never be here again.
And for those who normally get a Christmas card from us? Well, you didn't this year. Because right now we are still hunkered down in our little rental house, but Lord willing, come spring, summer, or fall we will be moving. And yes, we've been saying that for the last four years, but we have a bit more of a plan in place this time and so I will send out we've moved cards then. Because I don't want to miss your Christmas cards in 2019!!
