This is a very interesting book about the Queen of Sheba and her visit to Solomon.  Liz takes the story straight from the Bible.  There is no romance read into it between the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon like many movies and books can portray.  Just a few verses from I Kings 10 and there is so much to glean from it.

Liz has 10 chapters and I'm just going to copy her list at the back of her book as an idea of what each chapter is about and what the Queen of Sheba can teach us today:
Be bold and take frequent leaps of faith.
Be open to whatever God has prepared for you.
Seek wise counsel from trustworthy sources
Be humbled, trusting Him to lift you up
Be honest with God, with yourself, with others
Encourage everyone who crosses your path
Praise God in all things and in every season
Give generously, with open hands and heart
Receive graciously, to honor God and the giver
End well by loving well all the days of your life

There is much good advice held in the pages of these books.   I don't mind giving if it doesn't cost me too much and I don't mind receiving if I think I deserve it.  So, I think I have a lot to learn here.  Becoming an encourager is another area I would like to learn to do better in.  I want to make the world better for those around me because of the words I say or the way I live.

I really enjoyed this book. It is written in simple language and is easy to understand and the concepts aren't so deep that I can barely grasp it.  I will say after the last two books I read this one felt like a breath of fresh air, but maybe it should have stomped on my toes harder than it.

I noticed I have another book or two by Liz in my library and I look forward to the day I get caught up on my reading and am ready to read those as well.

I know some review companies like you to comment on the front and back of the book and its visual appeal: this book has a pretty cover that does kind of draw you in.  The background is purple which is fitting considering it is a book about a queen.  It's a softcover book and the design is very nice.

Ah yes, this was just what the doctor ordered. I've wanted to review Dorcas' last book or two and was always too chicken to ask, but this time I threw caution to the wind and said, "Yes, I want to review your book." And I'm so glad I did. It was the perfect book for this stage in my life. Short, easy to read chapters that can be picked up and read whenever and wherever. They are guaranteed to either make you laugh, smile, cry, or or just give you that ah-ha feeling that someone else experiences life like that too.  I could quote from pretty much every chapter something that struck me in one of those ways, but I really want you to go buy the book so I won't do that many spoilers. I only want to give you a hint of what is to come in the book. First off, isn't the cover beautiful? I can dream of a kitchen table like that with the apple pie still steaming and the tea pot, or coffee pot more likely, full to the brim and a beautiful arrangement of flowers

Five Lies of our Anti-Christian Age by Rosario Butterfield

 What a great book for this time in history. There was just so gold to be mined out of this book and so much I missed I'm sure. I would love to read this book again using the study guide so that I could learn more. Rosario doesn't beat around the bush. She tells it like it is even if she has to acknowledge areas where she has failed in, lies she has believed and needed to repent of. I find her faith in God and belief in His word and her ability to express those things refreshing and convicting.  The five lies she addressed in this book are: 1. Homosexuality is normal 2. Being a spiritual person is kinder than being a Biblical Christian 3. Feminism is good for the world and the church 4. Transgenderism is normal 5. Modesty is an outdated burden that serves male dominance and holds women back.  I wish somehow I could hang on to the way she's says things so that I could better express myself in challenging conversations.  "When we dispense with the wisdom of the creation
