Little Critter Little Blessings Collection by Mercer Mayer

Little Critter Little Blessings Collection: Includes Four Stories!

Little Critter: a fan, indifferent, or a hater?  I can't say I'm usually a big fan of Little Critter. He's naughty, makes huge messes, and just overall full of himself. I will grant that they are rather funny books.

But enter the Little Blessings Collection. Little Critter remains Little Critter, full of himself, selfish, unforgiving, etc. But he now is doused with a lesson in reality and Biblical truth. He learns that always needing to go first does not make him that great of a friend. He learns that forgiveness needs to go both directions. He learns that he can get into a heap of hot water when he doesn't tell the truth or even when he just leaves out certain important details. And he also learns to be grateful for what he has in life.

So if you are on the edge with Little Critter like I was, this may be the book collection for you. Critter is still Critter, like I said, but he now learns a good lesson in each story and it makes him a better person. There are four stories compiled into one nice hardcover book: "You Go First", "It's True!", "Being Thankful", and "We all Need Forgiveness". Little Critter still has the same core group of friends, Gator, Gabby, and Tiger. These stories also don't feel forced. Sometimes when a popular character is "Christianized" to teach a lesson, it can feel forced, but this isn't. The story line flows really well.

I did really like this book. My almost three year old does too. She had it read to her twice the same day it came in the mail.

I received this book from Book Look Bloggers and was not required to write a positive review.
